Dear Alumni and Friends,
Mr. HASAN UZ Zaman (IE&M, 1983), and ex-AIT Research Engineer, has died on Saturday morning, 18 July 2020, due to complications following an operation in Melbourne, Australia in the previous week. He was suffering from Colon Cancer. Mr. Zaman was approximately 64 years of age and lived in Australia since 1986. He was buried in Melbourne’s Dandenong Cemeteries on midday Sunday, 19 July 2020.
Mr Hasan Zaman was a Mechanical Engineering graduate from BUET, Bangladesh (1981), left his brilliant engineering career years ago, and has since been a successful businessman in Australia.
He left his wife Hasina Yasmin Shumi (also an AIT ET 1984 graduate), and only child (a daughter) Farzana, a young medical doctor.
May his soul rest in eternal peace, Ameen! Please pray for his departed soul.
With my kindest regards

I knew Hasan Zaman and his wife Hasina Yasmin from AIT days, and we were very close.
They came to Australia in the mid-1980s and settled in Melbourne. Both husband and wife worked for years as successful engineers. Then Hasan became a very successful entrepreneur. They helped many Bangladeshi immigrants coming to Australia, and my family is one of them. They received us at the airport and drove to their house where we stayed a few weeks.
It is very sad to see Hasan pass away so soon. I pray for the departed soul and wish the best for the family.
